Paypal + Irish Postcode

I have been buying on Ebay for nearly ten years, paying via Paypal with no problems. When I signed up with Paypal first I had to open my account with Paypal UK as there was no Paypal.ie at that time. Problem is they are asking me to update my credit card details now and I've been trying to do that but the Paypal UK site keeps asking me for a UK post code. It won't accept my Dublin post code now. Has anyone else managed to solve this problem without opening another account with Paypal.ie?

Mine has default instead of a postcode.

And is your account on the UK site although you live in Ireland, like me? Is it possible for me to set it to 'default'

There are no Dublin postcodes .- nor indeed Irish postcodes .

Most users enter 0000 or 1234 or default in the post code box .

It's been a long time since I set it up, I think at the time I used xxxxx and any correspondence or deliveries come up as default on the address.

Thanks for the replies. I will just have to see how it goes by trying some of the above. Bit of a pain though.

Close your UK account, if something happens or you start selling you will be asked to provide information and bank details to prove you live in the UK which you wont be able to do.

You can close and reopen your account in 5 minutes with the same email address not a problem.

Final decision made, I'm going to close my Paypal UK account and open an Irish one. Will I still be able to access my old account details though on the old account? I don't really want to lose that information.

Once you close a PayPal account it's gone. You could download the account history first or open you new account with a different email address.

It might be best to remove the linked cards + bank a/c's first before closing .( if there are any )
