    Hi all,

I'm on the look-out for a new car, and came across this Audi A6 1.8T in Germany:

I have a friend who lives near the dealership who's gonna go check it out for me. He's not an expert in cars, but if he gives it the ok then I'll probably make the trip from Romania to see it myself and probably buy it.

Before that, though, I was hoping to get some general advice about the car. I've read a good few user reviews, and they can be quite mixed. This one's got a full service history (last serviced in August last year, passed the German NCT in January this year), and looks pretty clean, apart from the scratches, so it looks like a relatively good deal.

It's got one previous owner - a pensioner - who could no longer handle such a big car by the looks of things. :p

My main worry is that it could end up being a money pit. Has anyone got any insight?

    Thanks in advance!

Once it's gotten decent oil at the right intervals it should be ok engine wise, not huge potential for being a money pit, it's manual too, odd bit of suspension would be the most expensive wear items I reckon.

Seems very expensive though, admittedly the miles are low.

Look at this lhd yoke over here....

One thing about that car , I don't think is E4 (emissions). If you plan in registering the car there, here is a registration tax calculator.

Thanks, that puts my mind at ease a bit. Believe it or not, the price is very good for Germany, and even better for Romania.

I noticed that some models around that age are Euro 3, while others are Euro 4, so I need to clarify that. The car's registration documents should indicate which it is, so will have to check that.
