Not sure if this is he right home for this, but feel free to move it if necessary.

Have a bit of a damp patch appearing over the front door, where the wall meets the cornice. Not sure if its water getting in from outside, or if its a leaking pipe in the en-suite above. Am i looking at big money to find out where the problem is?

probably easier and cheaper to open the ceiling, especially if the en-suite is tiled.

    As said above...

But to be honest its one of 2 things i reckon... Either the shower has come out of its socket... Or the basin pipe is loose behind the pedestal from it being kicked....

This are the comon ones that cant be easy seen outside the normal leak reasons....

Can you give any more info or provide drawings and photos of your bathroom and leak direction

Just make sure to check every single joint and fitting in the bathroom before going further, Many a time i have been called out with the homeowner imagining the worst and it is sometimes an easily accesable joint such as a sink trap or toilet cold feed.

Check everything you possibly can in bathroom first.
