    Hey all,

On the thursday two weeks from now (28 June) I will be volunteering at Ozanam House which is just off Mountjoy Square until 5pm and in the evening I will need to be at Tullamore for a party.

What is the best way to get to Tullamore by public transport, also would it be possible to make the journey back the next day, as I need to be back at Ozanam for 12pm.

    Thanks,

    Michael

On the Thursday, walk down to the Luas
Head to Heuston, there is a train to the Faithful county at 18:30, be in Tullamore in about an hour

Next morning there 6 trains that will get you to your destination in lots of time.
    9.31 to Dublin is one

    15 euro each
Return is the same price, no savings

There is one bus you could get from connolly station luas stop, the 121 at 5.30pm going to tullamore.

The best option for you is the train.

You have a choice of two trains on the Thursday at 6.30pm and one at 7.15pm.

Next morning there are trains startting at 5.40am, 6.29am, 7.19am, 7.52am, 9.10am, 9.31am, and one at 10.37am which gets into Heuston at 11.40pm.

You are probably better off buying your open return ticket at the station as you can chose your return train the next day as if you buy online you are tied into using the train you pick or pay a surcharge, the ticket office is also cheaper by a couple of euro because you dont have the card charges.

If you are a student with a "student travelcard" your ticket should cost 18.30euro in the ticket office or only 13euro online,(if bought online you can use any valid student card!) chose the other ticket types option and pick student ticket and then cancel the adult ticket back to 0
