Flying to Lanzarote from Knock Airport tomorrow and need to get down there from Dublin. Our original plan was to drive, but that's not an option anymore. Can anyone tell me the quickest/cheapest way to get there? Check-in is at about 15:50. Thanks in advance!

€26.60 monthly return with Bus Eireann..

Leaving 10.30am from Busarus towards Ballina (Route 22) - you'll need to make a quick change at Charlestown but you'll be there by 3pm.

EDIT: Actually.. there's a 40 minute wait in Charlestown!

Thanks lads, looks like it's going to be an early start, it'll be worth it to get away from this weather though! Is it just me or are those Bus Eireann timetables really hard to decipher? Also, where can I get the monthly return for that price?

They're not too bad.. it's just worthwhile to click 'Show Intermediate Stops' to get a full indication of the journey / number of stops.

You save 5% by buying online, so it's €26.60 online or €28 buying direct from them tomorrow in Busarus.. not much of a saving but every little helps!

Ah ok, for some reason when I fill in Knock Airport instead of just Knock the price goes up to €42.75  Is that just Bus Eireann trying to fleece people? Will the ticket to Knock get me to the airport?

No, Knock Airport is a good 20KM from Knock.

EDIT: Sorry.. that's my fault for filling in Knock in the search above. It should be Knock Airport. €42.75 it is.. sorry for getting your hopes up!

ah that's pretty expensive. I wonder why that extra 20 km doubles the price? There's also the problem that when we return the last bus from Knock airport will probably have left. It's at 17:45 and the we only arrive 17:55. Would I be better off getting a single and then sorting out a taxi to a different town when I arrive or something? There's 5 of us travelling. Thanks again for the help

Edit, Actually I read it wrong, we arrive at 16:55, should be ok!

Yeah, your other option would be to get a taxi into Charlestown (5 minutes away but with bags etc, it could be an expensive taxi).

Bus leaves there towards Dublin at around 6.30pm I think.

Thanks for all your help Basq. In the end I bought a return from Dublin to Charlestown for €27, and I can just get on the bus to the airport in Charlestown for €2. If I were to do the exact same thing through the website it would have cost me €42 altogether, over €10 more expensive for the same journey. I wonder is it an automated thing on the website or are Bus Eireann just gouging people going to Knock Airport?
