Problematic Ebay Buyer

so I'm selling some games on ebay, and was in work til after the auctions ended.

about 1/2 an hour before they were due to end, a guy started sending emails asking to buy a couple of the games for half of the €10 starting price, and with free postage.

he then goes and bids the €10 for each of them, and straight away leaves a negative for one, and a neutral for the other, using the feedback to again ask to buy them for €5 each.

at first I thought it might be a scammer.
but despite the low feedback the account has been open since last february, and his name is foreign sounding, which matches up with the horribly broken english in the messages he sent.
there is still a slight chance it's a hacked account, but still think it's just someone who's chancing their arm or completely ignorant of how ebay works.

anyway, I want to get the feedback removed, and possibly have the auction "cancelled" to try get any fees (especially final value) refunded.

can anyone advise me on the best way to go about it?

It is REALLY hard to get anything sorted with ebay because everything is automated. But here is a phone number; http://ocs.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactCS&ref=1&topicrelid=5007370130&sid=5232942617&convId=0&ContactCsResultsPage=true

Your best bet is to try that, and if you get a 'real' person on the phone it will all be sorted.

He bid on the items, but didn't pay? How did the auctions complete? Unsold? Sold?
Can you not mark as 'payment not received' and cancel the auctions?

they are down as sold as he did bid, but I know he has no intention of paying for them in full.
Can't do "payment not received" for 4 or 5 days afaik

might have to take the Benga's advice and get on the blower, the feedback is going to put people off bidding on my other items.

I found / find it the opposite, I've had a few negative comments removed within minutes of just contacting them via the live chat room thingy on the ebay page....(longest I ever waited on one of those was 6 minutes or something...it tells you when you log on how long it will be)
On non payers I've had final fees either not taken or returned soon after putting in a non payer complaint...

just out of interest what did he say in his feedback?

it's not the content, all that he wrote on them was asking again for the games for €5.
it's more that buyer's will see my feedback rating at 96.8% odd and be immediately put off without even reading the feedback.

To be honest I've bought from sellers with less feedback ha ha....I always read the neutral and negative comments of sellers and make my own mind up as alot of the time it's petty s**t like you have recieved...also i look at the people leaving the negatives too...but that's just me being anal :)

But to be fair to ebay once you report the comments they'll fix it for you as they'll see it's not even feedback....

    That's an absolutely valid concern.

Hopefully Ebay will see it as a clear breach of their own rules and remove accordingly.

On a wider note, there is a form you can request if you feel you've been defamed on ebay.
