UPC HD+ Box Starting Up Issue

    Hi guys,

    I have a black UPC HD+ Box.
    Here is my start up proceedure :
    1. Turn on TV
    2. Press UPC button on UPC remote.
    3. TV makes a little screech noise.
    4. UPC channels come on (50% of the time).

    Heres my issue :
    50% of the time with the above proceedure, 1, 2 and 3 fine, but then the TV screen stays black. i can hear the sound and if i press OK button etc, the blue dialogue box appears but the picture wont.

    Only cure for it is to pull the plug for a couple of seconds and power it back up.

    I assume you are running it via HDMI cable? Have you tried a different cable. I was having issues where the 'source' wouldn't appear on my TV. New cable and it started fine!

    When what you describe happens I use the channel up/down button and get both, occasionally I get a black screen but just put the TV into and out of Standby.

    theres a problem with the hand shaking on HDMI boxes, just turn on the box before the TV and it works.

    will try this proceedure from now on, thanks.
    will swap HDMI cables if it doesnt help.
