If you are offered a master franchise agreement for 10 years, what happens once it has expired?
Do you have to purchase a license for another 10 years?
Or is it a case if you are performing well it is just renewed

Depends what's in the franchise agreement. You may just walk away with nothing. They may offer you a further 10 years at a discounted rate or they might pay you a bonus if you have exceeded targets and help handover to the new master franchisee. It's probably all negotiable. :)
