Linked my desktop icons to internet on laptop

    Hi, I need help with this I have somehow linked my desktop icons on my laptop as well as my start menu to the internet. When I tried to open say word or any of my other non internet documents such as microsoft word or photoshop and any paintshop I get a window opening with either firefox or internet explorer. How can I undo this link it is driving me mad. :confused::confused:
