Moving UPC Box to new account

Hello all

hoping that someone can help me :-)

I am living in rented accomadation with friends and the account is set up under one of the girls names. I bought a UPC box for my bedroom. I am moving house next week and I want to bring this box with me and set it up under my name. I rang UPC and they told me this is not possible. They said that the equipment is tied to the current account holders name! Is this true? Sound crazy to me that I cannot add the box to a new account!! Has this happened to anybody else?

Any help would be great.

sounds like you order got multi room so you oanly had to pay an extra €5 a month

first thing is tha UPC don't sell boxes, they remain property of UPC at all times, which is good thing and they'll replace them if there is ever a problem.

what you need to do is cancel the multiroom, move to new address an open your own account, obviusly you'll need a full service and not just multiroom.

you don't need to add the box to your account, they'll give you a new one, and collect the old one.

I paid 50 euro for the box and then we paid 5 euro extra a month on the montly bill.

will they give me a new box for the new account?

Yes. Every package now comes with a box. If you don't sign up to the HD channels then you may not get a HD capable box. Depending on which package it may record or not.

Normally the first box for each household will record.
