Interviewed for a job a few months ago.

Was down to the last two.

Had originally met with a manager and then met the owners for the second interview. One of them didn't seem that interested in me and I felt they were going through the motions.

Never heard back from them so a week or so after I emailed the manager who originally met me to ask if there was any news on the position and they never got back to me which I found to be a bit unprofessional.

Anyway, the job is now being advertised again. Would it be worthwhile to apply again?

Dunno if you should or not, professionally speaking, but for the sake of your own curiosity, I would. Especially if they try to start the interview process again and then start asking questions.

If I were you I would ask them again for feedback on the first time. As a basic courtesy they should inform you of any areas where they felt there were issues.

The last contact was me asking if there was on any news on the position and they never got back to me which seems very odd as it was down to two in the end.

Might email the manager and ask them about it. Just don't want to appear needy but also would like know what happened.

Then again, presumably they have my cv from 3 months ago and wouldn't just forget

And, do I want to work for people who couldn't be arsed being courteous enough to let me know one way or the other?

    Hmmm..... will think about it.

Op I wouldn't bother applying for the position again due to you been in the interview process already, however I would ring (not email) and speak to the manager whom you initally met with and ask for his/her feedback and why you haven't heard back from them. Also they could be seeing what else is out there before coming back to you but 3 months is ridiculous

I'd suggest you ask for feedback on how your interview went before applying for the job again as you be more aware of what the employer is looking for if you get an interview with them again.

Personally I wouldn't apply for the job at all since you been there done that and not been fruitful but then again you be up against different candidates next time, you might be lucky? Then again there was a reason why the other candidate was picked over you but even still they should at least have got back to you if you any bit interested in the job? Especially when you were in the final two!

They might be looking for someone specific but no harm in trying anyway. When you didn't hear back from them, chase after them for feedback. If they give it to you, you be in a better mind as to whether to apply for the job or not.

I saw a job I applied for there last year and did the interview, wasn't successful. Then months later its advertised again and I definitely won't be applying for it again. They obviously had difficulty finding a suitable candidate if that was the case. Think they were looking for someone more specific really.

The fact you were down to the last two last time is such a positive as well although if it was me I'd ring them first and see if you could get feedback. I'd remind them that you were that far advanced with them last time and I'd ask them straight, is it worth me putting my name forward again.

    Good luck

Is it definitely the same job ? Could someone else in the organisation have left and they are now replacing them. Or is there only one of this role ?
