Recruitment into the Airport Police Fire Service (APFS) is now all undertaken in house within the DAA. Staff working for the DAA within the three state airports can apply for positions when advertised, Dublin Fire Brigade now have a similar system in place for internal recruitment. I believe there is no current plan to change this and recruit externally.

The education requirements are the same of what the Gardai require for their entrants. A full clean driving licence is also mandatory.

The selection process follows a similar syllabus to most other emergency services which would include fitness tests, appitiude testing both analytical, verbal reasoning etc.. This would be all screening prior to interviews taking place.

I hope this helps give you some extra information about recruitment into the police.
