Diplexer issue

    location n ireland
receiving uk freeview transmitter limavady c53 upwards
looking to and can receive saorview moville c45

    hardware humax HDFOX T2

Hi i'm looking to receive saorview from the humax to do this i need two aerials one pointing to limavady and one to moville, they would have to be joined with a diplexer, with one cable going down to the box

i have identified a diplexer for this job it splits at channel 51 so the aerials are separated, saorview in the lower input, freeview c52 and above input but i think i've noticed a problem. It says here that on the 10th of october a new multiplex BBCA starts on c50 (underneath the split, saorview territory )with the current mux1 c67 closing.
That means to me that split is at the wrong place and the diplexer won't work, in fact i will likely not recieve the channels from this new BBCA mux

is there a diplexer that splits at say c48? not that i can see!

i'm i completely reading this all wrong?

if i am right this will be a problem for everybody in my area using this diplexer to obtain soarview from moville

    any help would be good!

    thanks in advance.

What part of the north are you in? Is there any chance you could use 1 aerial to get both transmitters?

There should be diplexers available split at ch. 48 anyway.

Something like this Fringe K/CD unit.

I'd doubt they're as well screened against interference as say Triax diplexers.

    Fringe catalogue is here: http://www.fringeelectronics.co.uk/PDF/fringe%20catalogue-web.pdf

coleraine area so the aerials would be pointing like this > (sort of ten to twelve)

already tried with one aerial but can't get moville , but with a better aerial coming you never know!

    thanks

If by 'better aerial' you mean higher gain, then it will probably be more directional than what you've already tried, so even harder to get 2 transmitters spaced like that.

You could also try a plain combiner/splitter with no filtering on the inputs, might work alright, though a diplexer will have lower signal losses.

yeah the better aerial was mainly to get moville and i might just try the splitter you never know but now i know i can get the diplexer i need, alls good

    thanks for your info
