IATI issues resolved?

    Hi,
Looking for some input on a query I have.

I enrolled in the IATI Account Technician course 3/4 years ago. It was the first year they printed their own manuals. They were shockingly bad. So many mistakes and many mistakes within their sample papers too. In the end I asked for a refund and was granted it. I couldn't continue as I had no faith in it.

Anyone have issues since? Have they managed to sort out these issues? I want to return to it now but its a toss up between IATI and ACCA.

    Thanks in advance

Big difference between IATI (Accounting technician) and ACCA (Accountant).

Did they stop using textbooks altogether and start just giving their own books? Did they charge you for them?

Yeah they printed their own manuals and everything was a mess.

I meant the ACCA accounting Technician Qualification.

Yeah, is still bad, i just 4 exams for the first year. They have increased their standards in that exams are much more difficult, however their books don't provide enough, accurate information and the solution books are even worse, with lots of obvious mistakes.

The only hope is a good lecturer and even those are scarce :)

Well that rules me out as I wanted to do it through Distance Learning.

Don't even go near to distance learning.

I think there are some online demos on their website, you can get a fairly good idea. Online workshops are quite good, however they don't balance the lack of accurate information in the books.

Agree with both comments, we barely used books. Our teacher say there solution book was crap and don't even bother looking at it.
