Hi all, going to register with parking tag. Patient in Holles St, and a nightmare when Im in a queue with the meter ticking! Just a quick question, my appointments may well take longer than three hours, can I stay longer than the three hours or what happens?

The official line as far as I know is that you may not remain in the same spot for more that three hours at a time (i.e. you must move your car to another street after three hours), but in my experience, I've never been clamped when I've exceeded this time period. For example I went through several months parking on Baggot St. for nine hours at a time (yes, the costs was pretty high), without ever getting into trouble. Naturally you must still pay for the additional hour(s), but that's the beauty of Parking Tag - you just top up from wherever you are over the phone - no need to visit the meter every three hours.

Same here, I often parked for longer than 3 hours in the one spot (Fitzwilliam Sq regularly) and never had any bother. In fact I never knew you weren't allowed to do so until now.. :)
