Hotmail account blocked

Hi folks,

I got a message when I tried to log into Hotmail saying that my account was blocked. I was asked to enter a number for a code to be sent to, which I did. I then entered the code and was asked to enter my old password and pick a new one. I haven't done that as I'm not certain if this is legitimate. According to the Windows support page, they never ask for password details, and there was no mention of having to change your password in the 'account blocked' support page. Has anyone had any experience of this before? I can't use the Microsoft answers forum as I can't log in to ask a question, and I can't find any email address for the support centre.

It sounds a bit strange alright, could you try from a different computer? It is possible your DNS at home is "poisoned".

hotmail don't have an email address, or customer service number, they use the forums and have mods there to help.

Same thing happened on sisters account about 10 min ago. Went thought it all and was fine
