Hey, apparently I bumped into a wall today while parking, barely on any speed, got quite a reasonable scratch on bumper, it's kind of redish/orageish color, should I just try and find same color and cover scratched area? or repaint whole? It's plastic and it doesn't look like paint, it more looks like some kind of colored plastic cover/wrap on bumper, I mean I don't see car bits on wall or anything, nor the paint has fell off, it's just like plastic packet/wrap pieces around it.
Or the visuals of car wont affect any kind of stuff like nct, etc... and I should not bother as it's my first learners car and I will prob change car within 1-2 years.

Btw what force do you have to hit something with for airbags to trigger?

Depends how much the car is worth really and the amount of damage. If it is an old banger then a cheap fixer up may be enough. If it is a decent car worth a few quid then a poor repair or diy job will show and will affect it's resale value. At the end of the day you need to bring it to a few different body repair shops and get quotes for the work.

Regarding the airbags, the car's SRS system detects the force of impact and determins if the airbag(s) should be deployed.

Scratches on a bumper will have no affect on NCT so long as it doesn't leave any sharp edges which could possibly cut someone. And you won't get fined for driving around like that either, it's only cosmetic. The plastic wrap you see sounds like it could be strips of bumper plastic which were peeled away as you scraped it along the wall, so you're well below paint level. If it was a straight-on impact you wouldn't usually get that effect, just a dent or crack.

Personally if it's a cheap old car with a few marks already I wouldn't bother fixing. You're bound to add a few more.
Why did your qualified accompanying driver not warn you you were so close to the wall? ;)

Airbags should only trigger when the SRS considers the impact severe enough to cause injury. It's hard to put a figure on it but and grazing a wall while parking is certainly too low unless there's a defect somewhere. That said, air-bags firing prematurely is not unheard of but is very very rare.
