    Hey everyone

Making a decision on colour of windows shown on attachment with this post in the next week. While I completely understand that colour is a completely personal thing, just wondering if anyone has had experiences with black windows expanding or squecking?

    Regards

You planning to use black uPVC windows?

I presume answer is yes, I'd try go for aluminium and match colour of frame externally with colour of render - looks like it will be rendered - this colour match thing can look great

    Assuming you mean black pvc?
On a South facing aspect the black will absorbe more of the heat from Sun, and as PVC expands when heated it will possibly warp, and certainly creak, then it will cool down, and creak some more.

White reflects back the heat, and so it's not such a problem.

But thats only when the sun shines, so only a few days a year;)

Is it possible to get windows with a different colour inside and out? extra cost? Want to go with a light oak pvc finish outside but would prefer white internally as it would be easier to match etc

Yes its possible, ask for a quote....Light Oak on White, should be about 15-20% more than white both sides.

    Also available, Rosewood on White,

Some window Co's will offer a colour, black, blue, red on white but thats a special order so price will be a lot more.

    Cheers for replies guys

Im leaning towards black or cream at the mo-yes the windows are triple glazed PVC.

Just a little worried about the sunroom especially as there is quiet alot of glass and there will be alot of frame showing in this part of the house. Do people think black would darken the house too much- considering I do not intend painting it for a few year.

I would disagree... White can be harder if there is no white in the room, light oak wood grain effect windows if done well go with near any interior finish (bar ultra modern i suppose).

We have light oak frames and a similar enough design to yourselves... Of course I think it's the bees knees :p
