    Hi guys/gals

Im female aged 30 and am considering getting braces on my lower teeth.

Im getting married autumn 2013 and would like to have my smile perfect! The thing is my upper teeth are fine, i had retainer when i was in early teens to fix a fang!

When i got my wisdom teeth early/mid twenties the centre bottom teeth overlapped. I have a big smile and have been told a lovely one too, my family think im mad to be putting myself through that expense.

When i smile i generally just show my top teeth (prob more self concious now though) but obviously showing upper & lower cannot be helped if im laughing etc.

I did have a consult with an ortho and he quoted me €2,200 for lower metal braces, €2,800 lower ceramic & €4000 Incognito.

Will i be putting myself through alot of pain & expense?? I can afford them but am have alot of bills to pay for wedding. Has anyone any experience on just getting lower braces??

I would be really self conscious with my age. The ortho said invisible braces not an option for my lower teeth.

    THanks for any help.

    Hey,
It depends on how much you want your smile to be perfect!. There is pain (slots of pain) involved with braces. But the end result is a perfect smile :).

I think your should prefer Invisalign braces instead of metal braces because Invisalign braces keep your smile natural and beautiful.

Have to agree Invisalign are great ... Just like wearing a retainer! Orthodontist will make a mould of your teeth from this approx 12 - 14 clear plastic braces are made (just like a retainer), you'll wear each one for 2 weeks then swop to the next one for another 2 weeks etc etc. I had top and bottom teeth done - all finished in 6 months. You take them out to eat so you don't have to worry about avoiding certain food etc. But the big plus is that they are invisible so unless someone gets very close up and personal they won't know you have braces!!
