Hi, Can someone please recommend a good reputable online shop in Ireland besides Amazon please?

I just want to compare some prices before purchasing a new lens and filters.

    Many thanks.....
(I do intend to purchase the lens in a bricks and mortar shop:D);)

I know there are a quite a few in the UK such as mifsuds, speed graphic etc but, are there any decent Irish ones?

And I don't want to hold out till I go to Holland this summer.....no patience:p

Ian Kerr (Kerso) he's on ebay, if you email him you generally get cheaper prices then is advertised :) (Which are still really cheap!)

He's based in scotland and I can vouch for him I bought a load of stuff before! :)

As it happens he has a lens I'm looking for at a great price, but I don't fancy the Post getting it to me in one piece to be honest:(

Anyone experience on getting lenses in the post? Are they still in one piece?:o

If you're afraid of something going wrong just stick with amazon or such (a reputable seller with a solid returns policy).

I got my Canon 24-105 L from a crowd in Hong Kong, I believe (I can't remember their name, but they're well known.. just drawing a blank at the moment) and i had no issue, but these guys give a warranty that only they cover (rather than an actual Canon warranty) and they're known for being difficult to deal with if you've any issues or difficulties, so if you want to stay cautious go with someone who has a good returns policy.

I've bought several lenses from Ian Kerr, never had an issue. They all arrived safely due to good packaging. He now has his own website see here

I have bought stuff from ACfoto in Germany in the past,it used to be considerably cheaper than buying here but Conns prices seem comparable now. They used to do COD which was nice, never had an issue with packaging, in fact I recently got a lens from Russia that was bubble wrapped and it survived the ordeal. Once it doesn't rattle around in the box it should be fine

I know you've already bought the lens, but every lens I've ever bought I've got online, and never had a problem. I've bought from Dublin, UK, Germany, France, Russia and Hong Kong. Reputable shops selling lenses know how to pack them. If the is a problem, reputable shops will sort it out.

If your looking for the ideal mix of Irish bricks and mortar store, mixed with online ordering and delivery, then I can recommend Conns Cameras in Dublin. Anything I've ordered from them (thats in stock) has arrived to me in the West of Ireland the next day, and for Sony stuff at least, some of their prices are the best I've found online.
