    Hi All,
My main front lights are not working. Neither driver or Passenger side. I checked fuses behind glove compartment and there are 2 x 7.5 fuses. They both look OK. I went and bought 2 new bulbs and replaced old but still not working. Any ideas apart from bulb and fuse. Is there wiring somewhere that may have disconnected.
    Thanks

Are your full beams, parking or indicators working.

That happened to me once and it turned out to be a faulty indicator switch. I'd drop in to an auto electrician.

Would the indicator switch affect the main lights only?
You've just triggered my memory. If I look at my dash where my speedo and oil, Diesel levels are the Background light is gone on right side of unit. Maybe there's a connection between the 2.... Or maybe just a bulb I need to replace...

It affected mine - the high beam would work if I held the lever towards me as if to flash, but the dips wouldn't work at all. This was an '80s Audi, though, it could have been specific to that car.

Edit: BTW, here's what a quick google threw up: http://www.talkford.com/topic/163301-dipping-headlights-not-working/

    Maybe check those other fuses?

    Hi Anan1

That post was very useful. I checked fuses in glovebox, then checked fuses in engine compartment. No change. I then checked relay by first swapping with other one in box and then listening. I heard the click so that seemed good.
I then swapped the 7.5 in engine box with one from glovebox (not related to lights). Still didnt work....
Now when I put all back together and put on lights they are back working. So maybe the fuse in engine box is on its way out. (Or possible dirt on it??). I will go and pick up some spares for when it happens again.
Thanks for the info cause you've saved me a few bob.
    Cheers Mate! :)
