What do ye boardsies think, leave em at it or feck off taking our stands that actual cyclists would like to use?

[Its been there for at least 2 weeks now, suspect they intend to leave it there indefinitely]

    That is quite annoying.

Here is the public registrant information for that domain name:

    Administrative Contact:
    Boland, Paul boland_paul@hotmail.com
    5 Dunville Ave, Ranelagh
    Dublin 6, Dublin 6 Dublin 6
    Ireland
    086 3749000

I'm sure if sufficient numbers of people expressed their annoyance by SMS and phone calls to this number the bike might get moved.

A bike shop is at that same craic using a stand just by the AIB in Rathgar. It's obnoxious, and it discouraged me from using the shop.

Maybe he can be fined for littering?
The Litter Pollution Act, 1997, as amended by the Waste Management (Amendment) Act 2001 and the Protection of the Environment Act 2003, introduced strong penalties in Ireland to help combat the problems of litter pollution more effectively. The definition of 'litter' under this legislation is quite wide and extends from casual pieces of paper or cigarette ends to anything large or small that is, or is likely to become, unsightly.

    And also
    Posters and signs
The law forbids the putting up of posters/signs on poles or other structures in public places unless you have the written permission of the owner of the pole or other structure in advance of putting up the posters/signs...

He may well just be the guy who registered the domain name.

A CRO search pulled up a ltd company (dissolved in 2004) and a registered business name from March 2012, but neither corresponds to that address.

I reckon posh boy's mam and dad told him to get a job and he came up with this. I can't believe there are too many people rocking up to Windy Arbour Luas stop thinking "Jaysus, I forgot to book a hotel / car / restaurant." The saying "Thank God" when they see this ad.

If he's the business mastermind he hopes to be then he needs to deploy his ad bike (bikes?) a bit further than just around the corner from his gaffe at the nearest Luas stop.

Windy Arbour Luas stop, renowned for it's high tourist footfall right enough.

Ah well... maybe it can just be defaced instead (a bit of packing tape would get rid of the website info... but I'm amazed someone hasn't already changed the B for an F!).

Mention it to a few of the local hoods, say it's not been touched for weeks etc, it's a pain in the ass, here's a few quid for a junior hacksaw and no more bike.

Its basically done like a gost bike, its useless but a tank, hard to break and not worth stealing.

Good point actually, there's a fair few scangers on the other side of the tracks.

Recedite is right btw, luas stops are their property under the bylaws, but whether or not the concourse beside it(stretches way up the road) counts or not I'm not sure.

Windy Arbour is up there at the top I'd imagine, not a day went by when i used to go by that way where at a minimumm someone hadn't a saddle robbed if not a whole bike, apparently the cameras don't cover it.

I'd personally never leave my bike at any Luas station.

    Karma's mate's karma was stolen
    His buzz was totally wrecked
But karma's not just a cycle
It's a cycle of cause and effect

apparently there are lockers at the Dundrum station where you can rent them and put your bike into them. Not sure how they are then secured, but if they are anyway decently locked then it would be very cool..
I've not been on the luas in ages to check them out

It's a material change of use of the bike stand if it's not used for the temporary parking of bicycles.

Contact Dun Laoghaire Rathdown's planning department and have them issue an enforcement notice.

Is it not more of a material change of use of the bike than the stand? Could s/he not get around any enforecment notice by "cycling" it (or walking, carrying, lifting) away for a period of time every so often? I presume the logic behind it is that
    - It's my bike
    - I'm locking my bike at a bike stand like everyone else does
    - I happen to have some advertising on my bike, like some people advertise "Giant", others "Raleigh".

Is there any sort of restriction to how long a bike can be parked at a stand like this? It's not like on a parking meter when it says "3hr max per 24" or whatever.

Not saying I agree with what s/he's done, but am just wondering what can be done about it.
