Does anyone have any suggestions as a good place to pitch a tent/park car for 3 days in Kerry. We're a middle aged couple and will take our rubbish home with us. We just want to get out and about to enjoy p &q and nature. So preferably not a campsite...... unless it's really cheap.:p

You've two options really. One is to ask a farmer to wild camp on their land/mountainside. Down around Sneem/Waterville could be fabulous for this.

Otherwise a semi-wild campsite right at the base of Carrauntoohil and the MacGillycuddy Reeks is Kissane's Hostel & Campsite - 064 6644272. You'll probably be the only tent there and great hiking/biking around the area...

thanks for that, will most likely ask a farmer, with a campsite as a backup.

Better buy box of biscuits/chocolates or a cake as a thankyou for the farmer ;)

Mannix Point, Cahirciveen Co Kerry is one of the best campsites in Ireland if your just look'in to chill & camp beside the sea. You'd want to check his web page for prices. The owner Mortimer is a sound oul skin.
Other than that, i'd just wild camp late in at least 2 different spots over the 3 days.
