    Well lads,

Myself and 5 mates are heading to Crete Sunday and are wondering if we will need to bring all our cash with us. We would like to just bring a small amount each and get the rest from Atm's over there, but we have heard that there is the possibility of a bank run if their election goes the wrong way on Sunday. Would we be best just bringing all our cash with us or is this bank run just media speculation?

Personally, I wouldn't bring all your cash with you. The chances of it being stolen are probably considerably higher than the chances of a catastrophic bank run during the time you are there, and while you might experience a little hardship if you were unable to withdraw money from ATM's, at least you'd still have it. Crete is great, enjoy your holiday.

Make sure everyone has a credit card. If there's a bank run, cards will still work.

Don't think any of the lads have a credit card would a laser card suffice?
