    Hi,

Anyone out there who has motorhomed to Croatia and beyond I would like to get their advice. We went to Italy last year (Lake Como, Maggiore, Idra and Garda) and enjoyed that. Hoping this year to go that bit further!! What route did you take, stops, places to see, etc., in fact anything at all you think relevant would be much appreciated.

We are planning to do a bit of northern Croatia only so anyone who has been to these parts and can give advice, again on where to stop, tolls, campsites, scenic areas, etc., etc., would be more than grateful to hear your advice and views. Also any links to relevant stuff would also be good.

    Thank you all.:)

Got to Croatia in early July. Weather is fantastic - 31, 32 and even 34 some days. Only prob was to acclimatise to it - it took a few days for that. Last passage in Italy was through Trieste. Then on to Slovenia and at first service station over border to top up the diesel (very very cheap) and buy a vignette for travel through there. Since heard if you go through the secondary roads in Slovenia that you can avoid buying the vignette and save yourself some money. The vignette for a full year is around 90 euro but I didn't go for that one obviously. Then it was on to Umag in Croatia (Camping Pineda, lovely site beside the sea and 31 euro for two people and camper. After a few days it was on to Rovinjc - old city with great character, very Venetian - a little gem. Lots of boat trips to this place from various other parts. I took the one from Umag a few days earlier but was so impressed with it we (me and wife) went for another look because boat trip was on a schedule. Stayed in Camping Vestar, 6K outside Rovinjc, big site and expensive but has everything, "Best Campsite Croatia 2012, 11, 10, 09". Now down south of Pula - no hurry! (Camping Diana, 3 star, small, helpful owner (and mother) and now off to see the Roman Amphitheatre. That's enough for now. Phew!!!!:)

    Croatia is fantastic.
Would love to motorhome there once the kids are older.
There's amazing islands that you can ferry to from split, brac and korcula.
There a beach on brac called zlanti rat (town is Bol) most famous beach in Croatia... Stunning!!!... It's convex and has a forest in the middle of it, worth a visit if you have the time.
    Keep us updated.
    Marty.
