Was reading about Letterkenny being one of the towns to have fibre laid down - which broadband company would be making use of that now, or would all of them be using it? Or is it even being used yet?

I know smart have upgraded me to 24mb and i'm now getting 16mb on speed tests.

was on 7 but dunno if that has anything to do with the upgrade around town or just general upgrade

Don't think the fibre is actually connected to the Eircom network, and as such companies like Imagine etc cannot use it to provide broadband..

Wee read here, not 100% sure of this, but it's my take on the situation..
