    Hi,

Is it just me or has Adverts gone to the dogs when trying to shift gear. Used to be great but can't shift anything, gear is immaculate and price is v.good too.

Anyone no anywhere else apart from Ebay, buy and sell and donedeal to shift gear.

I know I have eliminated the biggest sites there but I need a quick sale as I am emigrating soon and I don't want to just leave it and I can't bring it.

Shops in Dublin are offering ridiculous money, insulting offers really.

    any help

It's simply a case that very few people have the money to buy gear nowadays. Shops offer low prices so they can try and make their margins, which is usually 50% or more in most cases.

Your best bet is to leave it with family/friends and leave the ad up at a good price. That way you can sell it, and get whoever's minding it to give it to the person. Get them to transfer the money to your account and wham there's your money.

    Stuff sells, just very slowly.

    the guy speaks wisdom!

there just isn't a lot of cash swilling around at the minute.

if anyone HAD a bucket of money, its a buyer's market.

There's just so many people trying to sell these days and much less people with the spare cash to spend on music gear. I've managed to pick up a few small deals but if you have some decent money you can pick up some steals these days.

Been selling stuff over the last few months. There is a slow take up and I had to cut prices and travel to deliver to close the deal. I guess what I have up for sale is only worth what someone will pay for it, not what I think it's worth.

    You've got it all wrong.

Take her for a date before you go for the shift.

    Yes, I went there.

Ain't no spare cash out there for buying instruments these days. I've a tasty bass up for trade as I know it will never sell. That said I've had it up for months and not done a trade either!!
I did get a deal fantastic deal on a Yamaha tenor sax a while back so it works both ways.

There is definitely some cash out there. I keep a good eye on adverts.

But the thing is if you price your gear in and around everyone elses gear then it just won't shift. people are looking for bargains now cos they know that cash talks and B*^&SH*T walks.

On the other side when something comes up cheap compared to the rest and is in good order......it goes within hours, and I've seen plenty go within minutes....and then a long line of 2nd,3rd.4th in line if deal falls thru.

The best advice I can give you is if you really want to shift your gear......you gotta put it up at a price that just can't be refused.... and just take the hit on it....We all have.
