Mods, please move this if it's not appropriate; I don't actually know where is the right place for it?

Organising my friend's hen, got the big stuff organised but looking for the little things that make it extra special; little goody bags with a few treats in it for the guests (9 of us), love heart sweets on pillows etc..sounds cheesey but sometimes people and the bride remember this stuff. Would love anyone's advice or experiences..

    Thanks!

For my hen the girls had a photo album with photos of me and (my now) hubby as babies up stuck in a scrap book nights out when we were both single, as we started going out etc. They left loads of space in it and all wrote messages at various points in the weekend, and then after the hen we stuck photos of the hen weekend in it.... I love it! Also we stuck €4 in it the Sunday of the hen and none of us can remember why: but its so full of memories its fabulous :D

They had loads of bubbles for me too: I (sad and all as it is!) love bubbles: there were bubble guns, pink fluffy bubbles for around my neck, bubbles that don't burst things to make giant bubbles: I swear I had more fun with the bubbles than you can possibly believe! But something individual like that is great fun!

We had champagne and jelly shots on the bus on the way down and west coast cooler on the way home :P

Oh and one of the girls had the fold up butterfly shoes for everyone (8 of us) for when our feet got sore that night: they were fantastic!! She got them on ebay for €4 a pair as far as I know: they really were great!!

Copying in what I posted in another thread:

at one hen I was at they had candy from when she was a kid, many people do this for weddings too. Candies like those flying saucers with sherbet in them, hubba bubbas, liquorice all sorts, etc... it was really fun.

We also made out a questionnaire for the groom and got his answers. Then the hen got asked the same questions and for every question she got right she'd get a small prize, like silky knickers (sounds tacky but it wasn't), garter, photoframe with a pic of her and her cousins when they were small, horns, necklace, lippie, ear-rings, candles...
Basically everyone brought something small so the expense wasn't all on the bridesmaid.

If you're going away, a printed itinerary is nice, pretty fonts, a bit of sparkle, (if the bride is into that kind of thing).

Tell everybody to think of a good story about the bride to tell.

Personally I'm not into the mr and mrs quizzes myself.

In the process of making the homemade, hand typed invites and itinerary! The weekends event is a surprise for the bride, altho she has guessed I reckon but it happy to play along! Gonna do the quiz anyways, can see how it works for some, but not others.
