Sligo to Liffey Valley Retail Park - Help!

    Hi,

I plan on getting off the Sligo - Dublin train at Maynooth and was told to get the 66/67 bus to the stop at the footbridge that crosses over to Liffey Valley Shopping Centre where you end up outside M&S.

However, I've since realised that where I actually need to be is a fitness centre beside B&Q in the Liffey Valley Retail Park on Cold Cut Road (I think its called). Can someone advise me that I should still get off at the above stop and if so how far a walk is it from that footbridge outside M&S to B&Q and if not can you recommend any other stop that is nearer that I could get off at.

I am kind of limited with the Sligo - Dublin train as I either have to get off and Maynooth and get the bus to Liffey Valley or go into Connolly station and get the bus back out which I don't really want to have to do.

Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you.:)

That is the closest stop coming from Maynooth. You're probably looking at a 15 minute walk directly across the Liffey Valley complex to the fitness centre.

Thanks for that @ lxflyer. My return train to Sligo leaves Maynooth Station at 19:37pm. My course finishes at 5pm. Do you think I will have sufficient time to get from the fitness centre back to the bus stop and out to maynooth bearing in mind traffic and bus delays and the course not finishes on time etc.

Yes you should be fine. You can take any of the 66, 66X, 67 or the 67x going back from Liffey Valley. Journey time will be 35-45 minutes max.

Just make sure if you get a 66x that it is going to Maynooth, as there are two departures that don't.

You are probably better off getting the bus from Sligo as it will drop you off at Liffey Valley saving you going into the city centre/Maynooth and back.

The same for the return - you won't need to worry about connections or anything and it'll be faster as a result.
