Hello! Ive never posted to boards I'm not sure how it works, so in advance please excuse the mistakes I will/won't make.

Anyways ill throw my problem out there and if you know anything about this then that'd be great.

I'm 16 and have an overbite (front teeth hang over bottom teeth quite noticeably) it makes my chin sink in under my lip then jut out in a very ugly way ? I think this is called receeding or something. It's a horrible feature and my chins really weak.

I can hold my bottom teeth under my top ones and it will push out the dent under my lip and make my chin look more normal, but I can't do this all day it's very tiring and I was wondering if there was any way to fix it?

And if there is , is there a cheap alternative (unemployment of parents and all that) thanks a million in advance.

    Hi there

It seems as if you have prominent teeth or what is caled an overjet. From your description this is caused by having a small lower jaw, basically the upper and lower jaws dont match so the teeth stick out and the chin appears small.

This can be fixed but will require orhodontic treatment to straighten the teeth and possbily jaw or orthognathic surgery to correct the bite. This is an operation to change the position of your jaws so that the teeth will fit together properly

You would need to see an orthodontist and take it from there. Unfortunately such treatment does cost money but if you go for a consultation at least you will know what is in store.
