    Hi guys,

I need a bike for my turbo trainer. It can be old and really sh**e, doesnt need brakes or wheels or even handle bars.

The only think i want it to have is a Shimano octalink BB so I can install some old powercranks on it and test them out.

So if you got a frame with that BB and want rid of it. I buy it off you for next to nothing. ;)

I'm 5'11 so a tiny frame wont work or a large frame.

Here is what the Shimano octalink V1 looks like if you are not sure.

Frame size shouldnt matter for a turbo trainer bike, just use a longer/shorter stem.

I've got a 54cm frame, clamp, headset and forks, the headset is mashed and the rear mech hangar is not to be found on earth anywhere (nickel brand), I rigged up an improvised hangar for my own trainer and it works OK but this would never be suitable for road use.
I've an octalink BB too, external cups from a MTB, one of the seals is battered but bearings are fine.
€50 if your interested, I'm in Enniscorthy. I can post for €60.

    Hi Joe,

Does the rear derailleur work? Need that to be able to shift gears on the back while on the trainer for intervals and the like. Never off the big ring so dont care too much about whats going on up front.

Can you confirm if its the octalink V1 or V2?
    Pictures of both here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_n-o.html#octalink

No Worries, those powercranks look a great idea, might look into a set next time I'm in pain.
