Whats the story with everyone being a critic

Greetings have you noticed the amount of new football experts that have come out of the woodwork since the start of the euro's. Don't get me wrong it is good to hear people following the Irish team and talking about it. But yesterday my dad was telling me "that for a so called defensive team we were very sloppy at the back". My father has no interest in watching football and only that Ireland were playing in green he wouldn't know the players in one team from another, but he is a prime example of these new found football critics that have emerged since the start of the euro's. Its like they listen to a few comments from Gilles and Dunphy after a match and then have their conversation starters for the day.

They should have passed more and their attack lines need work.
That sounds like appropriate football talk. . . I hope

Any sport will have its people trying to act as if they could do better were they in the shoes of the person whom they are criticising. They all are about as worthy of listening to as the other.

Actually, I'll not give a damn what you have to say if the topic in question is sport, in general. But, I guess I can have another response than apathy on the subject.

If people stopped talking about topics they know nothing about then AH would be dead :p

You need to take each critique on its merits there, OP.

It's not a difficult game to understand or follow. Soccer fans like to bang on about players like they're fcuking pokemon. They're just people. Watch the game for years, it won't make you an expert - just full of crap. Anyone who can follow the game can have a valid opinion.

Critical thinking should be encouraged in all walks of life so fair play to your dad for firing up the grey matter and coming to a conclusion.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one.

Oh yeah, barstoolers usually complain about everything while knowing hardly anything.
