Nah. Writing an article like that means more people visit the site.

    I think the equation is

    Write fanboyish article
    ?
    ?
    ?
    Profit

I can't see any arguments worth responding to on the article.

Am I the only one amazed that the following few features are only being introduced now?
Decline an incoming call with a pre-written text message letting the caller know you’ll message them in a few minutes
    FaceTime over cellular

An old Motorola E770v that cost me €60 back in 2006 could do both.

Your forgetting how Apple work, they make a little seem like a lot, the little that they do is very well done though.

… when you update apps from the App Store, the OS keeps you on the app page instead of dumping you out to your home screen — finally

    This Changes Everything

I hear you can even open the app from the app store now

Either the author of that piece has never had an Android, or is just a pure Apple fanboy
I could literally go on and on about how there aren’t automatic app updates in the background, or how you still can’t access Bluetooth or Wi-Fi from the Notification Center (although Bluetooth is now on the first page of settings making it a little easier), or how apps are still represented by static icons instead of some form of widgets.
    My SGS2 has all that
Do Not Disturb is a life saver! My iPad on the dock doesn’t light up my bedroom every three minutes at night anymore.
    My SGS2 can do that
Turn by turn navigation is great and the new 3D maps are stunning, though they aren’t available in many places yet. Multiple signatures and VIP in Mail are welcome additions, and here’s something I just noticed earlier this morning… when you update apps from the App Store, the OS keeps you on the app page instead of dumping you out to your home screen — finally.
    Does all that too
iOS 6 doesn’t bring all of the features we want, but in using the OS, it keeps Apple four steps ahead of Android as the leader in the mobile world. And that’s even without a new phone.

The one thing funnier than the article?

    The comments.

Keep reading after the article for a lot of chuckles.
The guy hasn't got a leg to stand on.

'iOS 6 inspired by Android' is the full title of the software!! :pac:

Ya it looks like this guy has a bit of Android bashing history going by some of the comments.
I think if some of these people could get their hands on him they would shove lots of apples in to every orifice available!

I think its just a way to get more clicks on the article and he is really just Trolling it

Looks like iOS 6 really is just after becoming a mish mash of a lot of good bits of other OS's and although Apple do these things well they are starting to find it hard to innovate anymore

It's getting him attention and smells of a wind up. Not worth the read but as wrong as he is there's android fanboys jumping in here too:p

in fairness to apple - one of the new features listed really caught my attention.
Ability to use a song as an alarm.
How is this not getting more attention?
I mean - you can set a song to be your alarm.

I expected my not yet born grandkids to have their hands on this type of technology - but its seemingly available now?
I have my doubts - there has been some let downs in the past - Im hoping this is not one of them. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the case?
That we will be able to play a song of our choice as an alarm?
This type of breakthrough would make me seriously consider switching to apple.

In all seriousness, having looked at the HTC One series phones and the SGS 3 today, i'd say apple are really up against it. The SGS 3 (even though personally it's too big for me) is some serious bit of kit. Likewise the HTC One S/X. Iphone seems like a toy in comparison.

It's the size difference and the almost dated look of iOS that gives it that effect. It's tiny in comparison to most other high end phones and its interface looks dated and relatively boring compared to what WP7 and Android have to offer.

I could be wrong now, but I'd be surprised if there isn't an Android app that will allow you to set a custom alarm tone/song...

Actually, there is and I have it on my phone already - d'oh! :)

I *think* he was being sarcastic :P

Even some of the final monochrome phones allowed you to set songs as alarms.

Having a laugh I suspect or is he being paid by Apple to write this crap? Fanboyism at its best

    http://www.bgr.com/2012/06/12/apple-ios-6-features-android-opinion-criticism/

Is iOS 6 that good or is it just stealing ideas from other platforms?
Seems like it no longer has Google Maps

By my reckoning, you have sent another 824 people to his site, which is exactly what he wanted. Blog was probably starting to rapidly go down hill, and he has probably been writing biased articles for a while now, hoping people would bite.. His ad revenue/blog value has just doubled.

What time of the day do you call that to be waking up?

You need the new iOS6 where you can put ANY song as your alarm tone, get you out of bed early on those lazy Sundays..
