    Hi,

inner cv boot is torn on the wife's Sharalaxy.

Once I have the whole shaft out of the car to change the boot will I be able to take the inner cv off to change the boot or is it necessary to take the outer joint off the shaft and work from that end?

Hope it is possible to just work on the inner end. If that is so are there any tricks?

    thanks,

The inner CV is held on with a circlip so you can work from that end.

    Thanks for the tips George.

Inner joint came off easily once circlip was taken off.
The circlip pinged along the path for about 10 yards but miraculously I managed to find it.
Joint was still very good and boot had only just burst. In fact the jacking up for the service that I did today was what did for it.

Only tricky bit was the "First Line" boot kit did not fit exactly on the gearbox end, as the tri axe was not circular but irregular. I cut the end off the old boot and used it to block the end and then put the new boot on top. Worked like a charm.
