Dont have Avast myself but I would imagine that the next time the filename pops up on the Avast window that you will get the option to ignore it.

Open avast UI top right of the window- settings-left hand size of new window exclusions

iv done that with exclusions but it doesnt seem to work because it will only let me select a folder where the file is located but wont let me click on the actual file.

Is there a little black box beside the file name?

Could you place the file in a different folder and then exclude that folder? May be a workaround. Most av programs will allow you expand the folders right down to choosing their contents
