@DublinAirport says the main runway is closed but airport operating as normal using cross-wind runway. No impact on arrivals or departures.

EI3213 from IOM burst tyres on landing. RWY 10 closed as a/c disabled.
    No injuries.

ATR EI Regional aircraft operated by Aer Arann

It's the first transmission heard on the Live ATC archive feed from 0930Z available online.

Would I be correct in saying that EK and EI B777 and A330 will have to wait until runway reopens to depart? Did EK land on 16/34?

Aer Lingus must be loving all the negative publicity that Aer Arann has brought them since wearing their colours

I can't see what all the fuss is about. It happens at all airports to all airlines. All it will take is a few minutes to drive up and down the runway, check for any damage and remove any debris. Open again as if nothing happened. Before the days of TPIS (Tyre Pressure Indicating System) blown tyres could go un noticed till the next crew do their external walk round before the problem is discovered.

in Dublin City Centre ( Merrion Sq) at 1pm today I noticed an Aer Lingus 330 doing two low level banking passes overhead heading SSE to NNW. about 10-15 minutes between each pass. I wondered what was happening.

    thanks for clarifying.

Aircraft involved was ATR42 EI-CBK and runway 10 was closed for around three hours to enable a wheel change to be carried out (port-side main gear).

It was finally towed off the runway around 13:45.

Incidentally, is tyre bursts a common occurance? A quick google search shows that there were 2 incidents of tyres busting on ATR-72s last year in India...

Yes. 777 since the start of May. Airbus A330 daily before that.
