Which is the best to use for checking a car out? :)

I asked Cartell a couple of questions last time, about a month ago. They had to be prompted for a reply, and when they finally got back to me their response was "please call us". I didn't.

Instead I ordered a triple on MotorCheck, and when I emailed to ask for a VAT receipt, they sent one on that evening, after work hours. I also queried an oddity on one of the reports, and got a reply and detailed follow up, this time at the weekend. And they regularly pop in here to answer queries, and even correct their data based on posts here.

You can probably guess who I'll be using next time. If you give me a choice of good customer service and a minor difference in price, I'll pay the extra bucks every time.

Thanks once again to MotorCheck btw, I've no doubt he's already spotted the thread and is lurking in the background. :)

What car are you looking at.

I did a few Motor checks when I was buying my motor, and tbh, I found them to be a bit of a waste of time.

Granted it could show up some details, but the information can be sparse.

Its easy to say they were a waste of time when there was nothing wrong. If there happened to be finance owed or sonething, it would be the best money ever spent. Motorcheck regularly posts here and is genuinely helpful.

Motorcheck helped me out in the past on here. Good customer service.

Worth noting though that Cartell have a cheaper rate for cars of 8 years old or more. Full check is €10 cheaper (€25 vs €35) and the history check is half the price (€10 vs €20).

Google discount codes for either. You should find some.

Cartell have more accurate reports when it comes to mileage etc. Have had nothing but bad experiences with motorcheck in the past and they were closed for queries when i called them during opening hours. Wouldnt even apologise for the mistake then or refund the cost of the report. They were a compete waste of time as I had to go other routes then as were also really slow to get all parts of the full report out.
