Weird Tyre Issue

I just slapped a couple of self-sealing tubes on my bike, but the front one won't stay inflated for some reason. Every day I pump it up, then five minutes later it's lost a lot of pressure. It stays inflated enough to get me through my commute (and will stay at that level for weeks if I leave it), but I feel like it's slowing me down a little, and the bike seems a wee bit unstable.

I'm thinking of just swapping the tube out and seeing what happens, but given that my outer wheel is the hellish-to-affix Marathon Plus - I felt like I'd run a bloody marathon after getting the thing on the first time - I'm wondering if anybody has had issues like this before and can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

You need to open up the tyres in order to check the tube to make sure that it is not leaking. I'm only familiar with Slime self healing tubes (even though there are more brands out there), but I know that if a slime tube has a hole then the green flourescent slime will be very visible. I have successfully patched one of these tubes, so all is not lost if it is punctured. If its not punctured, then you need to examine your valve for leakage.

    Hope that helps.

Make sure your tyre is 100% seated on the rim properly, I had that problem a while ago where I couldn't get it past 80psi, then i noticed part of the tyre wasn't fully seated.

Have you checked there is no problem with the valve?
