Can anyone recommend a garage that is good at fixing electric windows- Renault Megane. My sunroof is getting stuck (I think it just needs a good clean) and the front passenger window won't open- I called R*nault L*ff*y V and they have quoted me a huge price which I can't afford. They were also quite rude when i asked about whether Renault might cover the cost of the regulators for faulty windows as I have heard that they are doing this. So, all in all, I would prefer to go to a garage that are polite, and cheaper!

As far as i remember it was only the UK that were doing discounted replacements on the windows.

It's probably something a local garage could do fairly handy, just a case or taking off the door panel and replacing the motor, motor is still expensive.

The were replacing them up a few months ago (i was told this by LV yesterday).....i had one fixed foc in january....yesterday they wanted €60 just to look at mine, plus all the extras if Renno decided it wasnt covered.....
Ended up buying the broken part and fixing it myself..total cost €6.50......;)

I got one fixed in Airside Renault two weeks ago- regulator gone. They asked for €60 to check out the car, but said if I went ahead with the repair this cost would be waived. The total cost of the repair was approx €500 but Renault gave a goodwill contribution of 75% leaving me to pay €100. Having a Renault FSH was apparently very important as its up to Renault on a case by case basis. I understand if the car was imported too that they would tell you its your own loss etc.

The car is 2007 so I was very happy with this offer, I know many other cars have suffered similar issues (e.g VW have issues with windows on Polo's and Golf's) and would tell you to get lost asking for warranty on a 5.5 year old car

Any reputable garage would be able to sort this for you. Failed window regulators are the norm on Renaults so most mechanics would be able to repair/replace them in their sleep.
