Heading to barca tomorrow with work and flying out the next day.

Any suggestions on why to do if you had one night? Staying near the port area.

    Thanks
    Willy

Take the cable car from the port up to Monjuic and bring your camera. An experience not to be missed !

A Walk down las ramblas! A trip to the musical fountains - a lovely spot.

Go and take a look at the Sagrada Familia, the Gaudi designed basilica which was officially dedicated last year by the Pope. They started building it in 1882 and it's not expected to be completed until after 2025.

Mind your wallet and other belongings when in Las Ramblas, it's swarming with pickpockets. Be careful when standing looking at street performers, that's when they strike.

You've got to go to a bar called El Bosc de les Fades, just beside the Waxwork Museum of Las Ramblas. The interior is like a forest and there are little lightening shows every hour, it's amazing. http://www.trazzler.com/trips/el-bosc-de-les-fades-in-barcelona-spain

Thanks all for the advise. Love this forum.

I went to the sacred family and did las ramblas. Found a great little local fish shop/tapas place to each. Happy out :)

enough to give me an appetite to go back for more...:)

Hi, just searching for info on barcelona. Im thinking of heading over for 4 nights mid to late september. What would the weather be like and would you have any suggestions for things to do over four days. Someone has mentioned maybe a train up the coast to other towns/villages. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Tricky, I just searched the travel forum not things to do in(D'oh)

Would four days be enough. It seems there is lots to do. I am keen to get the train to some other places up the coast too as ive heard its a great base for the whole area, and now after reading about the euro disney type place that would probably be another day taken up. Maybe going to catch a football match if the GF permits :P.
Just checked and Real v Barca is on around the dates I was thinking :D Im thinking maybe two days out of barca which would leave me one and a half to see everything in barca with the flight time. Would I be better going for five or six days?

Four days will not be anywhere near enough. I spent four there at the end of last Sept only in Barce and will probably head back for a week to cover what I missed including a 2 trips to Valencia and Girona. You'll need to just work out your priorities.

The weather was 25-30 tee-shirt during the day and a bit cooler in the evening, light top.

Note, there's Festival on in mid-Sept which means even more to do and difficulty getting bookings. I might try heading over there the week after (4th week), so might even see you there.
