Junior Cert French

Im not good at French at all, but i'm still doing Honours for the Junior Cert. I barely know anything in it. I got 36 or 38 in the Mocks and i didn't write a word for the Essay/Postcard. Can use give me some tips for French ? Also i'd Appreciate if some of you gave me words in French and there English meaning that would help a lot in the postcard. And could use also tell me the words i need to know for Ingredients usually the first page ? Much Appreciated !

Try to keep it simple, learn phrases that you will remember easily as opposed to more impressive ones. Learn aller and etre verbs.

Here are some common ingredients-

La farine- flour (I think this comes up quite a lot)
Les ouefs- eggs
Le citron- lemon
La fraise- strawberry
Le champignon- mushroom
La laitue- lettuce
La pomme de terre- potato
Le four- oven

Here are some phrases I did yesterday.
If you need more, just look them up online.

J'espère que tu va bien- I hope that you are well

Moi, je vais bien- me, I'm doing well

J'étais ravi(e) de recevoir le cadeau- I was delighted to receive the present

Veux-tu venir chez moi?/ Je voudrais t'inviter chez moi- do you want to come to my house?

Le soleil brille- the sun is shining

Il n'ya pas un nuage dans le ciel- there isn't a cloud in the sky

Il pleut des cordes- it's raining ropes/raining heavily

Le ciel est couvert- the sky is overcast

Je suis allé.. I went..

à la plage- to the beach

chez mon ami- my friend's house

en ville- into town

L'école est ennuyeuse- school is boring

Dis le bonjour à ta famille de ma part- say hello to your family for me

Thanks a lot ! Also do use have any tips for answering comprehensions or anything else for it ?

It's hard to predict what comes up on comprehensions sometimes but there's often nationalities (Polonais(e)- Polish, Irlandais(e)- Irish, Francais(e)-French) and stuff about cars sometimes (le frein a main- handbrake, l'essence- petrol, le pneu- tire) That said, they could pick anything.
