So I want to unlock my Samsung Galaxy, is it as easy as unlocking the iPhone where I just downloaded a program on the laptop and unlocked it? Where can I unlock it online.

    Thanks

Well first, that is for UK networks, and secondly, I would make sure you can't do it for free first.

You will probably need to root your phone first. Have a search on XDA-developers for unlock methods, there are certainly free apps in the play store that will unlock the S & S2 so I'm sure would be worth a try

Its not just for uk networks, it says "LOCKED TO any EUROPEAN MOBILE OPERATOR"

There won't be a free unlock for a good while or there may never be one....

So at the moment the best option is the one I have said.

if you got it from 3 the chances are its already factory unlocked
seems most of them are appearing as unlocked (mine included) :D:D

Maybe keep an eye here www.chainfire.eu/
as this was the guy that had the unlock app for the sgs1 and 2 if I remember.

He's on xda also so search him up there.

Chainfire really just applied a method that was developed by Odia (and packaged it into an app)
I believe that none of the apps for unlocking the S or SII will work on the SIII.

Odia has been able to sim unlock the Galaxy SIII, but has not yet put up a guide on how to do it - I expect that he will once he has researched it a little bit more (bearing in mind he doesn't have his own SIII) so would recommend keeping an eye on the Galaxy SIII forum at XDA over the next week

    Went down this road.

Would really recommend. The shops are charging e30 for the same service.

Got the code within an hour.

"Sim unlock pin/Code" refers to the PIN attached to the particular SIM card you used!

It does not mean your phone is locked!

Try typing *#7465625# into your phone & that should show you the lock status!

    You may be lucky!:)

Lads, see here on how to do it for free, you need to be rooted though!
