    Hi all,
just wondering if anyone knows if the DCU gym has any kind of summer rates for outside students (I'm a UL student in Dublin for a while and DCU is the closest gym to me)
    Thanks in advance!

Nope. They're pretty stingy when it comes to DCU student discounts in the first place, tbh.

Their membership rates and shizz for your perusal. I'm sure other people can probably recommend alternatives :)

Got a quote for 150 for three months for all access... 10 less than the 6 month but I guess it's because I'm not a DCU student.. It'll have to do!!

They wouldnt quote me for 3 months use. I am student in DCU and finished post grad in September and was asking could I get three months access and what the price. They said they didnt do it. Seems like poor business by them.

Emailed them and got this reply:
"It is €150 for 3 month membership of DCU Sport. This include access to the gym, pool and fitness classes."
    Seems poor of them alright...

They're currently doing a deal for alumni membership. It's €260 for annual membership rather than €365.

If you are looking for a 3 month membership that is a really terrible price! If you are based in Glasnevin/Finglas/Santry the Finglas Leisure Centre really is a lot cheaper. €75 for 3 months. It's only a 10 minute drive from DCU.

They are very stingy when it comes to short-term memberships!! Even if you are a DCU student!! But try the gym in Ballymun, I heard it's very good and I'm sure they would be happy to give you a nice short-term quote!!

I've always been curious about that, because the facilities look lovely, but I don't actually know anyone who uses it.

The gym in Ballymun is a council centre also so should be similar in price to Finglas [€75 as quoted above?]. The gym area is much better than Finglas though. They actually have a pretty decent free weight section last time I was there. Been a good while though so check it out before you commit. You can do a pay as you go in all cc leisure centres.

Have pool also for cool down.

Turn right at the lights at the top of Ballymun road. there is a gym called northwood I joined with two others last year for 185 euros each, latest price is 600 for three people per year. see the website here http://bendunnegyms.com/northwood.aspx
A busy place with all the usual machines and weights, fab pool area(and i don't say that lightly) with two saunas, two steamrooms three jacuzzi's and 25m pool
