Do you think this dress would be ok to wear to a christening?

I've never been to a christening so I'm stuck on what to wear. I'm 20 so I don't want to dress too old and I don't like long/maxi dresses because I'm barely 5'2 so I think they look awful on me and make me look bigger.
So I was considering this dress maybe with a nice white blazer or cardigan

What do you think? I don't know if it's ok for a christening or not. Besides that I was thinking or trying to find a nice summery skirt and wear a white blouse with it but al the skirts I'm finding are a bit too short and I don't want to wear something too short because it's starting at 4pm and I'd feel a bit uncomfortable.

Yes I think its a lovely dress, very summery. I have just been to a christening & the afters were in the parents house - was very casual. If it is in a hotel or somewhere I suppose people would dress more formally - but I think that floral dress ticks both boxes. Enjoy!

Beautiful dress, very pretty and summery. In my experience, people tend to wear all sorts at a christening, some will get very dressed up, others will just wear trousers and a top. I would be slow to wear something very dressy to a christening as I think it would be ott. That dress is just perfect, dressy without being ott. Would be gorgeous with a white blazer and I think that’s an outfit you would get loads of wear out of.

I think it's very appropriate, it can be dressed up or dressed down. I was at a christening at the start of the year and everyone was dressed smart/casual.

When I saw the title I was a bit worried. From what I've seen on this forum, when it comes to churches, I'm pretty judgmental about what people wear. It really annoys me when people dress inappropriately for events like weddings and christenings. So you can take it from me for definite - your dress is totally appropriate! The last christening I was at I saw that about 5 women were wearing short bodycon dresses. About half of the women were dressed inappropriately in my opinion, and to be honest they looked like they were on their way to Coppers. So don't worry, your dress is lovely!

It's lovely....perfect type of dress for a christening.

Have to agree with you true-or-false - hate seeing girls going to christenings or weddings dressed like they are off to a nightclub!

    Gorgeous dress OP.

I would add a nice white cardigan/bolero, some flats and minimal accessories.

    Maybe a nice chunky gold bangle/bracelet and a ring/earrings.

if you were tall I'd be worried about length, but since your small like me then i think you have nothing to worry about.

I think its lovely, maybe wear a small jacket with it inside the church to make yourself feel more comfortable!
