Looking at the three lads in Kevins Druids Glenn photos, two have their shirts outside their trousers.

I know its all down to personal choice but do you wear your golf shirt in or out?

I am a shirt tucked in person, but would be interested to see am I now in a minority.

    depends

If I was out playing for the club in an interclub match of sorts, I'd have my shirt tucked in but if i am just playing for myself, it'll be shirt out

Generally in but if it's a hot day then it may be out.

    Golf shirts are so in.

But I used to be fat. Hence they used to be out.

In or out if its a short one designed to be out.

Starting in and taking it out half way usually ends up with a sweaty, creased thing hanging down my back :(

This is straying dangerously close to a belly button discussion. For the record, I'm an inny, on both counts.

I like to leave it in for the full duration
It is a lovely feeling to leave it hang loosely when it gets hot too though .......might just take it out now

In - but sometimes it pops out after a Dr Dre Monster Beat drive ;)

I'd always tuck in, just habbit.

But it wouldn't necessarily bother me seeing someone with one hanging out, or even playing myself with it out.

I'm not into the clothing snoberry bit, so I could be playing with a lad in a Addidas 3 stripe tracksuit and runners with a Burberry hat 90.

Aslong as he plays the game, is a bit social and is respectful of the game and playing partners, it really doesnt bother me :) In fairness I'm probably one of the most horrificly plain and boring dressed glfers going. I got two nice new pairs of trousers in the pro shop going for 50% off, and one of them has white stitching, white Footjoy logo and the creese in the middle, not at the side.

My footjoy aqualites were leaking only after 3 months so had to get them replaced over the weekend and he only had white ones in stock...

All I need now is a white belt and my transformation to the awkwardly uncomfortable will be complete...

(This coming from the guy who has been wearing a Batman belt on my golf trousers that I got in penneys )

In when wearing trousers and out when wearing shorts

In always for me, I don't like to see an untucked shirt either. For some reason I can't take the person seriously as a golfer if it is untucked.

I remember teeing off with a few mates of mine a couple of years ago at a course in Limerick.

The 6th green is directly behind the first tee box and there was 4 fellas playing golf in shorts, runners and their tops off. Tats too as far as the eye could see..:D

I remember laughing at the time, as nothing wrong with their attire but its just not something you see on a golf course.

Can you be thrown off or asked to put your top back on, or is this even a rule?

I'm pretty sure i know the course your on about and I'm sure they would have been asked to put their tops back on for the sanity of the rest of the players on the course. :D

Think I remember John Daly hitting a few shots topless before in a pro-am or something to that effect and getting into an awful bit of trouble for it. Could have been the same time he was hitting tee shots off a beer can. :D What a legend.

In. Wearing it out is a bit too scruffy imho and poor etiquette.

What about hot days you ask? I generally pop my shirt off and play topless.

I keep my hairy moobs under wraps and as for my six pack ...... its now a keg ;) but it is interesting how many are willing to get them out

I suppose it is an etiquette qustion in some ways, anyone know if there's GUI / PGA / R&A guidelines on the correct attire. I know most clubhouses have some form of dress code i.e. collared tops, no jeans or trackies etc.

In with trousers/ out with shorts.. But not too fussed if the lads I'm playing with have tucked in or a boiler suit on once they respect their playing partners

That the sort of attitude that anybody new looking to take up golf would prob give it a miss if reading that quote..

I normally leave mine in but have no problem with other peoples preferences.

BTW - what a totally random topic to be discussing!!!

I agree sir, jolly well said. Same with these newfangled trouser things, plus-fours for the serious golfing gentleman I say, what old chap? And don't even get me started on those metal woods thingies.....:D

The course where I was a member as a junior used to have a sign in the men's changing room........"No topless golfers!" :o

Was playing golf in a 4ball in England last year, we were at a nice course near London, and on the first Tee that starter came over to our group and stopped one guy rather curtly said to him "Will you please dress yourself properly if you wish to play on our course, we have a dress code here", the guy had a little bit of shirt hanging out on one side of the top of his trousers.
