Where to buy a Jap import engine online?

    Hello!

So... after massive hassle with the engine of my Daihatsu import, I have been advised to buy a new engine for it online.
Once I have it obtained the engine, the mechanic will fit it for me.

Long story short but it was acting funny two years ago. Garage 1 referred it to garage 2, garage 2 kept it for four months, put the wrong engine in and it wouldn't work properly. They fiddled about changing ECU, fuel pump etc and gave it back to me no charge. It hasn't been right since because the engine is too big for it. Eventually it kept cutting out and failed nct so brought it to garage 3.
Garage 3 tell me I need to get a smaller engine. I took all the details out of the registration book as advised so am ready to look online. Anyone recommend or know any where I could look? Totally lost.

Also would you take garage 2 to the small claims court? Although they never charged me for that new big engine that my car can't handle or the parts, they've cost me trying to repair it with other garages, and a lot of hassle. Have been car less since November.

Would appreciate all and any advice!

    Thanks.

Unless its some fantastic car youd be better off buying something else

What's the model and year of the car?

I'd be wary of a garage getting me to source my own engine, If anything doesn't work they can just blame you or getting the wrong engine,

    Try Titan works on Facebook.

Lads on dtdirl use him to buy jap imports even now, and a lot of happy customers so far. He might sort out you an engine too.

Thanks Colm. It's a 1999 Daihatsu Gino. I'm probably being overly sentimental. The garage who asked me to source the my own engine is a friend of my dad's. It was just to make the favour less hassle for him.
