Play arma2 MP with dayz installed?

    So i bought arma2 combined operations pack for the amazing dayz mod but im also keen to get into arma 2 itself.
    I love my tactical shooters, loved the origional operation flashpoint,both red orchestras and other mods like insurgency and project reality.
    I simply never got round to getting arma 2.

    How can i play arma 2 multiplayer with dayz installed?
    I tried to change the beta shortcut launch properties to drop the dayz part but when i try to join servers im getting messages about dayz mod files blah blah and i get kicked.
    For dayz im using the beta shortcut as described in the guide,as i say ive tried to change the launch properties of it and also tried launching both arma 2 and operation arrowhead from steam but im seeing the same errors.

    Any ideas?

    Use arma launcher and create a mod group for Dayz and a mod group for vanilla.

    On the start menu there's an option called Expansions. This will show all your mod folders, you can disable/enable them whenever you want to play something.

    I'd also recommend getting SixUpdater so you can easily install/update ACE/CBA etc.

    This game is truly crazy with the amount of modding, my Arma2 folder is approaching 65GB.

    So many different mods on different servers its hard to know wtf im doing.
    Id like som dm ,tdm,maybe team based objectives in the arma world, is this possible via the vanilla game and operation arrowhead expansion?
    Apart from dayz im mainly seeing coop games.

    Small coop missions are the best missions imo.

    For some carnage and team based objective.

    Domination or Evolution but most require mods at this point.

    Few other decent missions WAr in Takistan is adecent.
