Hi I am thinking to buy 32' tv. What is better choice: LG 32lk450u full hd with 1year warranty for 330e or PANASONIC tx-l32c4b hd ready with hd channel tuner inside with 5years warranty for 350e. What is better choice?

Will you be intending to use Saorview on it?

The Panasonic is not Saorview approved, the LG is.

They told me in shop that I can get soarview on both tv's. I will use tv more for satelite box and for gaming and sometimes for soarview.

Don't buy any non Saorview approved TV, no matter what the shop tell you. Even if you never intend watching Saorview you should not buy a TV that is obsolete already.

The Sales staff want to shift incompatable stock.

Unapproved panasonics probably will not be OK on Saorview long term.

If you ever need to watch Saorview on it or want to sell it on you will thank me.

I think I'd still lean towards the LG, since you'll be gaming etc too.

Also, I don't think the Panny has USB port for playing video/audio files from?

LG also has 3 HDMI inputs, Panny has 2.
LG speakers is 2x10watt, Panny is 2x5watt.

Yeah, LG. And I say that even though I love the high end Panasonic plasmas.

And what about panasonic 5 years warranty against 1year LG warranty?

Every TV has TWO years warrenty no matter what the sales staff tell you, and they do know. I have had arguments with the same staff more than once on this, and I always win, as they know the law but chose to "forget it"

And what about panasonic 5 years Guarantee against 1year LG Guarantee?

How long will this LG 32lk450 tv Last?

My last tv was 19' lcd tv accoustic solution from argos worked 5 years fine.

I have compered the picture quality between these 2 tv models in shop that day (both tv's were on rte 2 Hd), and panasonic has better picture, colours were more natural and picture was clear, although it is not full hd. Also my girlfriend liked panasonic picture more.

Maybe because panasonic has better tuner for hd channels(PAL-I; DVB-T, DVB-T/T2 (MPEG4-AVC [H.264]) or better monitor?

But Lg has better contrast. picture was brighter.

Also salesman told me that panasonic can play full hd 1080p when is connected to hdmi device via hdmi cable. He told me that he connected desktop pc to panasonic tv with hdmi cable, and in pc settings he could choose 1920x1080 screen resolution.

Is it possible that this panasonic hd ready tv can play full hd 1080p when is connected with hdmi cable to hdmi device (desktop pc, xbox)?

You are best to ignore sales staff. They will sell you whatever TV gives them the most commission. Regarding brightness, they can adjust that using the remote making one TV sell better than another, as well as the contrast/colours etc.

Often these in store demos are rigged. Often the cheaper TV's are fed a worse signal (I have seen it myself). For example the top of the line are fed from a blue ray source while others are fed from the same player but via Scart.

Even if both TVs were on RTE2 HD from the exact same source it can be hard to compare if the settings were tweaked. I know; how do you compare. Best to get an independant online review. Indeed some of the latest TVs are actually worse than older models as they are side lit instead of backlit. It makes them slimmer and cheaper to make, but it results in a worse image.

    Here is the panasonic specs:

    Here is the which review:

But you need to pay for proper details.

    and the LG

    Review on the 450U here:
    http://www.which.co.uk/technology/tv-and-dvd/reviews/led--lcd-and-plasma-tv/lg-32lk450/review/

You can ignore all the mentions of Freeview and replace them with Saorview HD

Regarding the Panasonic it does seem to have a 1366 x 768 which is not a "FULL HD" screen, however on a 32" screen you would be hard pushed to notice any difference. I normally recommend a larger than 32" TV for any HD viewing and then you need to sit close to the TV. The panasonic will accept a 1080 signal but cannot display the detail.
Can I watch RTE2 HD channel on lg tv?

Yes every Saorview approved TV can get RTE2 HD.

So in summary the LG is better.

Given the non standards compliant rubbish Panasonic have sold in Ireland over the years It had better be fully Saorview approved or don't touch it with a bargepole. And no firmware updates could be got from them either. :(

LG were the first to be widely compliant.
