    Hi folks,

Bit of an emergency (the beautiful one needs to wash her hair!). Ran out of oil this morning, luckily I had a drum of it for emergencies. Only in the house 2 months so never got to know the boiler and its different to our last house.

Does anyone know how to bleed these?

    Its a Sterling 50 ST120.

Sterlings use a Danfoss oil pump, so you can bleed the pump via the Pressure Gauge Port. This is located on the side of the oil pump. You will see two ports, the top one being the Pressure Gauge Port. The bottom port is the Vacuum Gauge Port. The smaller inner adjustment is the pump pressure adjuster so do NOT touch that one.

To bleed, open the Pressure Gauge Port and wait until kerosene is flowing out of the port and then re-tighten. If the line is air-locked, you may have to press the re-set button on the burner to bring the fuel through the line via the suction of the pump and then once fuel is flowing again, re-tighten the port screw.
