Now if this is the wrong place for this I apologize and feel free to move to where appropriate. Just said I might get a better answer here, has anybody played the GOT computer game and is it any good?

    Worth getting?

This is a stain on the name that is "A Song of Ice And Fire"
That pretty much sums it up.

Haven't played but read awful reviews. Slow response to commands, brutal graphics.

There's a console game coming out shortly might be worth a look.

It was out on Friday, was looking forward to it but reviews were not kind, will wait for a price drop to even think about picking it up.

Some opinions of it here http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/game-of-thrones

Almost bought this instead of Skyrim yesterday, looks like I made the right choice!

Missed opportunity by the looks of it, Westeros would be a pretty bad ass setting for a decent rpg.

I can't find it now, sorry, but I remember reading recently about some game(pretty sure its only on PC), that has a unreal GoT mod. Not sure if there are spoilers from the asoiaf series or not. Might be worth checking out.

Again sorry I can't remember the name of it, maybe someone else here will though.

    Got the Xbox game today.:(

    Atrocious.
The graphics are horrendous, maybe 1998!
The fight controls are shocking (menu select attacks and sit back)
The text is so small I have to get up closer to the tv to read it
Cut scenes are jumpy and pointless.
So far it hasn't added anything to the over all story.

Looks like it's a "get a game out asap and rake in some money on the back of the tv shows success" job.

Skyrim will be closer to the GOT experience for sure, if you got on pc there are mods, if not sure there are snowy bits and mammoths , I'm currently playing Dragons Dogma on xbox, there are more than a few GOT nods........ even has dire wolves .............. though they ain't the friendly kind and attack in large packs

By the way if you play Skyrim to it's fullest you could have likely read all the books in that time space..... I listened to the audiobooks clocking over 140 hours and skyrim on the last save clocked over 120 :o

here a video of one mod I thought was quite cool

Great game! I downloaded the mod, but haven't played it yet. The mod's set during Robert's Rebellion, years before the series/books start so shouldn't be any spoilers.

A nice one, i have the xbox one though, so no mods for me :(

Must say I can't get over how big the game is, and so immersive too. I've only been through 2 sittings now (probably clocked over 12 hours by now though :o). What race you go with? I went with a Nord, but I'm kind of freaking over what direction to take regards warrior, mage or thief! Trying to be a jack of all trades at the moment! And buggered if I know whether to join the legion or the stormcloaks.

There's definite parallels with GoT, the dragon's returning, the frozen north with all the mammoths and that. Will keep me occupied until season 3 comes out I reckon anyway :D

I was the same, mostly swords and heavy armor , but was concerned about what loots I might miss if i wasn't skilled in other areas :)

Also my biggest problem with Skyrim was I kept wandering saying "I'll just see whats over this hill, then I'll follow the quest marker" :D

That was my thought too when I saw the adverts for it.

No way they could do justice to Westeros with about a years production under their belt (assuming they started before Season 1 finished)

I ll complete it to justify spending €50 on it but t is painful to play. The company who made it are either very **** at making games or very **** at making games!

    Anyone played the PS3 version?

I actually thought the game was ok on Xbox 360. The fighting wasn't the best and the endings sucked. But the RPG play & story line was enjoyable and kept me entertained for a few days.

I like the story and the main characters, being a skin changer is awesome and stealthing around killing henchmen is pretty good. It could be better but it could be a lot worse.
